Roush Ford Mustang 5XR 2011 now in UAE as Shamal 500R


Roush unveiled their 5XR tuner sports car, based on the 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0, back in October in the United States. And according to Ford’s dealer website in Dubai, the Roush Mustang is already officially on sale in the UAE alongside the regular Mustang GT and the Shelby GT500. The 5XR package, which includes “RoushCharger” engine upgrade components, is seemingly being called the “The Shamal” 500R kit in the GCC.

The recalls were piling in hard and fast during this year. While we kept up with most of the ones which could’ve potentially affected car owners in the Middle East, we simply stopped keeping track around two months ago, because it became interminably boring writing up repetitive “recall” stories. Ford Racing, the racing performance arm of the American carmaker, has revealed two race-ready versions of the 2011 Ford Mustang. Seemingly catering to two different crowds, the first release if the Mustang Boss 302S for the racetrack, and the second is the Mustang Cobra Jet for the drag strip. Neither of these cars will be found at your local dealer.
