The month of November came with an exclusive recall for the UAE and a string of recalls from FCA and others globally. Here is the list of all recalls from the past month.
Using legendary monikers to sell new models is not a new strategy. A lot of manufacturers have been letting their new offerings ride this wave of nostalgia. But this can sometimes end up being quite controversial, depending on the model they slap their name onto. You saw it happening when Mitsubishi revived the Eclipse name on a crossover and when Chevy slapped the Blazer name on yet another crossover. And now, Ford has taken it to an all-new level by launching the Ford Mustang Mach-E, an electric crossover.
It’s not often that the launch of a new car is held in the basement. But there we were, in the underground parking lot of the Ford Middle East HQ, getting an exclusive walk-around of the all-new 2020 Explorer. Only two US-spec pre-production cars are in the country at the moment, in Hybrid trim, and we were among the first journos to get a look at them.
This version of the Ford Edge caused quite a ruckus, even if it’s technically been around for a few years already. Previously known as the Ford Edge Sport, the hopped-up version of the popular family hauler was rebadged the Edge ST when the facelift model debuted earlier this year. Critics argued it’s not sporty enough to be given the ST title. We drove one in Dubai for a few days and have already reviewed it. But when we went for a little family vacation to Canada for almost two weeks, Ford provided us with an Edge ST for our entire stay there.

As muscle car enthusiasts gear up for the arrival of the new Shelby GT500, the automaker from Detroit has brought out something for the ones who cannot wait. The ones who are ready to settle for a smaller number of horses (it ain’t that small) will be glad with the launch of the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and the more track-focused GT350R.
With numerous hatchbacks on stilts claiming to be SUVs nowadays, proper off-roading artillery is hard to come by. Ford’s bigger F-Series trucks can now be had with a Tremor Off-road package. This package is for the Ford Super Duty series of trucks, arming them with greater towing capacity and payload as well. It seems poised to put the Ram 2500 Power Wagon back in its place, low in the totem pole of trucks.
Ford’s SUV onslaught continues, as they start phasing out regular cars in many markets. This time, they have revived an old moniker to christen their latest offering — the 2020 Ford Puma.
