تطلّ بورشه بطراز قمة جديد ضمن مجموعة “غران توريزمو” Gran Turismo لديها مع سيارة “باناميرا توربو إس” Panamera Turbo S. وهي ترتقي بمعايير السيارات الرياضية الفاخرة رباعية الأبواب خطوة إضافية إلى الأمام، مع توليفة فريدة من الأداء والفعالية وديناميكية القيادة والراحة. وتنبض السيارة الجديدة بمحرك جبّار، يتألف من ثماني أسطوانات على شكل “V” سعة 4.8 ليترات مع شاحني توربو، يولد 550 حصاناً، ما يجعله أقوى بنسبة عشرة بالمئة (50 حصاناً) من محرك طراز “باناميرا توربو” القوي جداً.

The last Porsche World Roadshow for the UAE was held two years ago at the Dubai Autodrome. It was a superb event for highlighting the entire Porsche line-up in one go. Seemingly open only to existing Porsche customers and us media types, it was a well-organised event that got us some wheel-time with the 2009 models. Inden Design has decided to make the 2011 Mercedes-Benz S500 to look more like the S65 AMG version. It’s probably because the price of the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG is insanely high and this will offer consumers the same level of sporty looks but without the same level of oomph, not that we are saying this will be any cheaper. Performance is improved slightly, so it’s not all cosmetic.

Recalls are boring news. They’re in fact so boring that we only cover them once in a while now. The number of recalls per month has actually reduced since the last time we did a rundown, by about 35%. Of course, the general media still chooses to sensationalise some recalls more than others, especially anything to do with Toyota. In the past two months, there have been recalls by Lexus, Land Rover, General Motors, Ford, Honda, Suzuki, Chrysler, Saab and even Mazda, the last of which is a hilarious one.
