Emirates Motor Company (EMC), general distributors of Mercedes-Benz for Daimler Middle East and Levant (DMEL) and the flagship company of Al Fahim Group today inaugurated the opening of the world’s largest Mercedes-Benz facility in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Daimler Middle East & Levant (DMEL), in conjunction with Sewells Consulting Group and the University of Melbourne, has introduced the Advanced Dealer Management Programme that aims to equip staff from Mercedes-Benz Distributors across the region with first class automotive retail management skills.
The new 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, was launched by Al Haddad Motors, the official distributor for Mercedes-Benz Cars in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
With the new SL65 AMG Black Edition taking up the top spot in the Mercedes-Benz line-up temporarily, the SLR McLaren is being discontinued soon, as AMG and McLaren branch off to make brand new supercars of their own. To give the aging SLR one last hurrah, an SLR Speedster is being developed. The funny part is, these “spy shots” were deliberately leaked by Mercedes-Benz themselves.
While the overdone SLR McLaren is finally going out of production, Mercedes-Benz is putting out the SL65 AMG Black Edition to take its place for a while. Powered by a twin-turbo 6.0-litre V12, it is one serious performance machine, even if it only comes with an automatic transmission.
We never get any invites to Mercedes-Benz car launches, and haven’t had any test-drive cars made available to us in years. However, their commercial vehicles division operates independently, and they invited us out-of-the-blue to the local launch of the Sprinter workvan. What caught our attention was the venue — Dubai Autodrome. We just had to go to this one.
