Chinese electric vehicle brand NIO has officially entered the UAE market by inauguring its first NIO House in the Middle East and North Africa region. Located in the heart of Abu Dhabi at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, the premium space combines cutting-edge technology with luxury experiences, offering a glimpse into the brand’s vision for sustainable mobility.
NIO has introduced the EL8, its smart electric flagship SUV, to the UAE, the brand’s first market in the region. This follows the announcement earlier this month of the formation of NIO in the Middle East, a joint venture with its Abu Dhabi-based partner, CYVN Holdings.
Founded in November 2014, NIO serves over 598,000 users across China and Europe. 2023 was a good year for them, as they sold 107,000 vehicles to the brand.
Chinese EV maker NIO made headlines with their new 150 kWh Solid-State Battery pack a few days ago. The tech will go into their first sedan, joining as the flagship vehicle to their lineup. Called the NIO ET7, the large sedan can return a colossal 1000 km range with the new battery pack.
The future of motoring is electric. It does not matter if we agree with it or not, the bright minds in the automotive arena are completely focused on perfecting EV mobility. A major milestone in this journey is now covered by NIO, a Chinese automaker which has now created a large solid-state battery that may give a range of up to 1000 km and quicker charging.
