Nissan had announced the return of their long gone brand ‘Datsun’ back in 2012, and not much happened after then. However, what we have here are some sketches of what may be the first Datsun in over three decades.
Nissan has given a significant visual upgrade to the 2014 Micra. The front and rear fascias have been completely redesigned to give it a new look, with some revised interior upgrades as well.
When we were hanging out at the 2012 Nissan Micra’s GCC launch in the UAE, we heard that almost every British expat has had seat-time in its predecessors dating back to the 1980s, sort of like how everyone here has some experience with the Toyota Yaris. It is interesting then, that Nissan chose to finally launch the fourth generation in the Middle East to do battle with, what else, the Toyota Yaris.
Nissan unveiled the all-new 2011 Micra at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. While the previous generation was a mini Europe-only hatchback almost as quirky as the Mini, the latest variant is intended to be a “world car” and as such, has been dumbed down to look like a 1990s Korean clunker.
