Be careful before you spend your money on new tyres. UAE authorities have accused several tyre dealers of making easy money by defrauding customers into buying old tyres as new. Many of them are even replacing new tyre “frames” with older ones that may have been imported more than a year ago.
Let’s get it straight right off the bat that we aren’t equipped to do conclusive tests on tyres. Everybody has their own opinions on which brand is better or worse, but most of them are just hearsay and conjecture. Bridgestone has officially launched their Potenza Driving Lesson course in the Middle East with former Formula One driver and Bridgestone ambassador, Stefano Modena. The course introduces drivers to “the key forms of proper sports driving and gives them a true driving experience” while using cars fitted with Bridgestone Potenza tyres. The first Potenza Driving Lesson was held in the Dubai Autodrome racetrack as a part of activities at the Potenza Performance Challenge held in the second week of December.
Bridgestone Middle East has just launched the ECOPIA EP100A tyre for the Middle East and Africa markets, at an event in Dubai, UAE. Bridgestone “rises up to the challenge in helping our planet” with this tyre, which apparently saves fuel thanks to lower rolling resistance.
