The Jeep Wrangler pickup has been a hot topic for years, as fanboys wonder whether Chrysler would build one or not. There have been expensive kits and aftermarket conversions, and while the current rumours say a factory version is indeed on the way, there is now a much cheaper kit to make a Jeep pickup of sorts.
We’re done with the Range Rover. It’s been almost 4 years since we bought it, and we were supposed to sell it years ago, but we kept it for this long because it was just so darn satisfying to drive around in. But we finally made up our minds and put it up for sale on just our genuinely-popular Facebook page, and sold it in less than a week.

It has been quite a long time since we posted an update about our Renault Megane. Nine months, three dealer services, and 37,000 km later, the odometer in our Megane now ticked over at 67,246 km, thanks to my other business that requires a lot of driving. Contrary to popular belief, the Megane seems to be easy on running costs even with dealer maintenance, so its Nissan underpinnings are a blessing.
When the first generation Audi R8 was launched in 2007, it caused quite a stir with its supercar looks, while combining it with daily drivability and good performance. For Audi, it likely wasn’t easy coming up with a new one. After almost a decade, the German luxury automaker has launched the new-generation R8. Still keeping the somewhat-similar exterior look with more edgier styling, the latest R8 is actually all-new from the ground up. Sadly, the V8 engine is gone, which we rather enjoyed in the previous model. However, the brilliant V10 is still there, which we had a go with on the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
BMW has released details on the new 2017 2-Series. While it looks virtually the same, the main changes are the new names for the models and slight power upgrades.

While the Toyota FJ Cruiser’s demise was greatly exaggerated the last time in 2014, when it was discontinued only in the United States, it seems the time has finally come for the rest of the world to say goodbye as well. Production will fully end by August this year. Update: Production is still continuing, at least for the Middle East market, for the forseeable future, as per Toyota Middle East.
Hyundai recently revealed the all-new Elantra Sport for the South Korean market. Called the “Avante Sport” over there, it comes with an aggressive bodykit and a more powerful engine.
Older residents of the UAE would remember Peugeots being all over the place about a decade ago. Heck, even we had one on our independent long-term fleet. Peugeot is oddly low-key around here nowadays, but their most recent cars are fairly attractive offerings, so we were keen to give the 308 a go.
