Land Rover’s upgraded 2011 LR2 and 2011 LR4 models are now available in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries. Both now get improved fuel efficiency, along with upgraded exteriors and interiors. The engine specifications remain the same as the 2010 versions.
The 2011 Range Rover and 2011 Range Rover Sport are on sale in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries. A new Limited Edition joins the Range Rover Sport line-up for 2011, which is positioned above the HSE. Some extra upgrades have been added on this year. Engine specs remain the same.
First things first, the 2011 Infiniti QX56 makes a big first impression. It is so big, in fact, that it makes us feel a bit embarrassed to be standing next to it, us appearing to be relative midgets. Of course, that bigness is generally regarded to be part of its appeal.
We just received a press release stating that the 2011 Mini Countryman had its GCC launch in Dubai with a “two-day action packed adventure” for the media around the UAE. We also heard from some Sharjah newspaper journalist that even he was invited. But of course, we being a small-time website with only 100,000 audited GCC readers and 280,000 worldwide users, with five times more web traffic than Car Middle East or any other local website, were deemed not worthy enough to join the party.
So far, there are no problems with my 2008 Ford Mondeo. There are slight squeaks coming in from around the centre console, although it is barely noticeable when compared to my previous Mazda 6 and is not intrusive. I had spent more time in city traffic this time which explains the increased fuel consumption. I have spent Dhs 338 dhs for fuel since I bought it and have covered over 1900 km, of which about 75% was spent on the UAE’s highways. Still very happy driving it. It is a very comfortable car.
The Lexus IS F sports sedan may have just debuted in the UAE and other GCC countries for the first time in 2011, but it has been around elsewhere since the 2008 model year. In fact, the Lexus IS F’s Middle East debut coincided with a 2011-specific upgrade. Also, we just wanted to make use of photos that were taken by Faisal Khatib back when we tested the car.
KTM opened the doors to their new showroom in Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road today. More conveniently located now compared to their previous store, consumers will be able to choose from off-road racing motorbikes, street motorcycles, quads and a host of riding equipments and upgrades at the showroom. Not to forget, they also offer the flamboyant KTM X-bow.

The American-built 2011 Honda Odyssey minivan was launched at an event in Dubai. The upmarket minivan is seemingly aimed at big Arab families, and is expected to sell fine in countries such as Saudi Arabia, though not necessarily as abundantly in the UAE.
At the 2010 Qatar Motor Show, Porsche unveiled the Panamera 4S Exclusive Middle East Edition. The strictly-limited 66 vehicles will only be available for sale in the Middle East. The “special” bits are limited to colour and trim only.
