For someone who’s not overly enthusiastic about cars, the Lexus IS 300C surely came as a surprise to me, something worthy of making a few good comments about. French carmaker Peugeot has sprung out of the quiet with their new offering in the compact saloon segment, the Peugeot 301, not to be mistaken with the vintage model the manufacturer used to roll out for our grandpas. As the new car is set to debut at the forthcoming Paris Motor Show, Peugeot intends to give the competitors in the hotly contested budget compact car segment, a run for their money.

My first car was a 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.6 with an original AMG appearance package. I bought it in 2004, but back in 1990, AMG was an independent tuner specialising in Mercs, with the occasional work done on other brands. Eventually, Mercedes-Benz and AMG became partners, and then AMG completely became a subsidiary of the three-pointed star.
