Just like every other automaker out there, Genesis is also working aggressively to electrify its lineup. It started with the electric version of the G80 sedan, and then came GV60, an electric crossover built on a dedicated EV platform. Now, there is a new one, the electrified 2022 Genesis GV70 EV.
Following the footsteps of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Kia EV6, Genesis unveils their own version, the Genesis GV60. This joins the luxury marque’s first dedicated EV, the Genesis G80 EV. The plush Korean EV will come in single- and dual-motor flavours, with up to 483 hp.
Electric vehicles are definitely the trend now and all manufacturers are setting their eyes on this growing segment. Genesis, an alien to this market, is not waiting any longer and jumps straight in, with an EV adaptation of their gorgeous Genesis G80 sedan.
Hyundai’s luxury arm, Genesis, is undertaking a complete portfolio overhaul that included the recently launched G80 and G70 sedans, along with their first SUV, the GV80. Now they’re adding a second SUV to the lineup, the smaller 2022 Genesis GV70. The GV70 flaunts their new signature design language whilst adding its own twist to the looks.

The first to get them was the Genesis G80. They have now officially revealed the facelifted 2022 Genesis G70 which seems to have finally hit the sweet spot.

Since Hyundai announced the Genesis brand in 2015, their range has always had only luxury sedans. Though the roots of the young brand and the sedan-only lineup were mocked by many, Genesis is still around, honing their products year after year. An SUV was a long time coming. It has been christened Genesis GV80.
Safety is at the forefront of car development right now. Hyundai Motor Group has chipped into this transformation by developing an airbag that will deploy into the space between the driver and front passenger to prevent them from colliding into each other.
